Ansonia baseball team shut out by Minster in season opener

MINSTER – The Ansonia baseball team lost 10-0 to Minster in a five-inning run rule to begin the 2016 season on Saturday.

Minster scored one run in the third inning, seven in the fourth and two in the fifth while holding Ansonia scoreless.

Ansonia had two hits and two errors in the season opener. Minster had 13 hits and one error.

Tyler Neal had both of Ansonia’s hits on Saturday. Dane Wentworth walked once and stole a base.

Logan Miller was charged with the loss as he allowed seven earned runs on 11 hits, three walks and five strikeouts.
