Greenville softball team beats Lebanon in 10 innings

DAYTON – The Greenville softball team beat Lebanon 1-0 in 10 innings on Monday at Wright State University.

After nine scoreless innings, Karsyn Shaffer got Greenville’s offense going by reaching base on a one-out error in the top of the 10th. She advanced to second on a sacrifice by Alli Hill and scored on a single by Cassie Cromwell for the game’s lone run.

Greenville finished the game with eight hits and three errors. Lebanon had nine hits and two errors.

Allison Minnich pitched the complete game for Greenville, shutting out Lebanon on nine hits, four walks and four strikeouts.

Cromwell went 3-for-5 at the plate with a double and a RBI. Makayla Hanes went 2-for-4 with a double. Hill, Sydney Grote and Minnich had Greenville’s other three hits.

Greenville improved to 3-0 with the win.
