Celina shuts out the Greenville baseball team

CELINA – Celina shut out the Greenville baseball team on Saturday, defeating the Green Wave 6-0.

Celina scored two runs in the bottom of the first, three in the third and one in the fifth while holding Greenville scoreless.

The Bulldogs out-hit the Green Wave six to two. Both teams made two errors.

Brayden York went 1-for-3 and stole a base for Greenville. Koom Hounshell was 1-for-2.

Kyle Mills pitched two innings for Greenville and allowed two earned runs on four hits, one walk, a hit batter and two strikeouts. Chris Force pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs and two unearned runs on two hits, four walks, two hit batters and three strikeouts. Owen Paulus pitched 1/3 of an inning and walked one.

The teams didn’t play the second game of the scheduled doubleheader because of the weather.

Greenville fell to 1-4 with the loss. The Green Wave will begin Greater Western Ohio Conference play at home on Monday against Troy.
