Ansonia baseball team loses at Houston

HOUSTON – The Ansonia baseball team lost 9-1 at Houston on Friday.

Houston scored two runs in the first inning and one in the second to take an early 3-0 lead. Ansonia scored a run in the top of the third before Houston added one in the fourth and five in the sixth to win 9-1.

Ansonia had three hits and one error in the game. Houston had 11 hits and no errors.

Logan Miller went 1-for-3 with a double and a RBI for Ansonia. Rygh Fortkamp and Kane Kimmel also recorded hits while Tyler Neal walked and scored a run.

Lane Clark was charged with the loss as he pitched four innings and allowed four runs on seven hits, three walks and two strikeouts. Dane Wentworth pitched two innings in relief and allowed five runs on four hits, two walks and one strikeout.
