Greenville’s AJ Frens wins the pole vault at Northmont’s Jack Lintz Invitational track meet

CLAYTON – Greenville junior AJ Frens won the boys pole vault to lead the Wave athletes on Saturday at Northmont’s Jack Lintz Invitational.

Frens won the boys pole vault as he cleared 15 feet. Sophomore Ryan Trick finished sixth in the event by clearing 12 feet.

Sophomore Sierra Cress placed third in the girls shot put with a toss of 33 feet 1.75 inches. She also placed fourth in the girls discus throw with a throw of 92 feet 11 inches.

Junior Justin Brown finished sixth in the boys 200 meter dash with a time of 24.87.

The Lady Wave’s 4×400 meter relay team of Katelyn Avore, Lauren Dull, Kayla Shepherd and Maddie Shepard finished sixth in a time of 4:50.61.

Greenville’s boys 4×100 meter relay team of Eric Pence, Dalton Walls, Ryan Trick and Justin Brown finished seventh in 47.26.

Greenville’s girls 4×200 meter relay team of Emma Jennings, Taylor Ward, Sydney Oda and Chloe McKinney finished seventh with a time of 2:04.40.

Senior Chloe McKinney tied for seventh in the girls high jump by clearing 4 feet 6 inches.

The Green Wave boys 4×200 meter relay team of Dalton Walls, Mac Kirk, Justin Brown and Tanner Herrmann finished eighth in a time of 1:40.15.

Senior Ben Whittington finished eighth in the boys discus throw with a throw of 119 feet.

Overall the Greenville girls finished 12th out of 17 teams and the Greenville boys finished 13th out of 18 teams.
