Mississinawa Valley softball team loses at Monroe Central

PARKER CITY, Ind. – The Mississinawa Valley softball team lost 18-8 to Monroe Central in six innings on Monday.

Monroe Central scored five runs in the bottom of the first, one in the second, one in the third, six in the fourth, one in the fifth and four in the sixth. Mississinawa Valley scored one run in the second inning, one in the fourth, three in the fifth and three in the sixth.

MV had nine hits and five errors in the game. Monroe Central had 22 hits and one error.

Paxton Scholl went 2-for-2 with two walks, two stolen bases, two runs scored and a RBI for Mississinawa. Leslie Dirksen went 2-for-4 with a RBI and two runs scored. Kinsie Blocher went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and two RBIs. Makayla Coning was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

December Wright was 1-for-4 with a RBI. Cassie Emrick was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Bailey Johnson went 1-for-4 with a run scored. Trinity Konwiczka walked, was hit by a pitch and scored two runs.

Dirksen pitched the complete game for Mississinawa Valley and allowed 12 earned runs and six unearned runs on 22 hits, one walk and three strikeouts.

Mississinawa Valley fell to 1-5 with the loss.
