Tri-Village softball team loses CCC game to Miami East

NEW MADISON – The Tri-Village softball team lost 12-3 to Miami East in a Cross County Conference game on Tuesday.

After Miami East scored four runs in the top of the first, Tri-Village scored all three of its runs in the bottom half of the inning. East then added four runs in the third, one in the fourth and three in the sixth.

Tri-Village had six hits and three errors on the day. Miami East had 13 hits and no errors.

Breeann Lipps went 2-for-3 with a walk and a RBI for Tri-Village. Shelby Holzapfel was 2-for-2 with two walks and a run scored. Shelby Frech and Breanna Locke also had hits. Kloey Murphey and Haven Buckley both had a RBI.

Locke pitched 2 2/3 innings and was charged with the loss, allowing four earned runs and four unearned runs on seven hits, two walks and one strikeout. Taylor Bowles also pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed four earned runs on five hits, one walk and one hit batter. Bree Wilson pitched the other 1 1/3 innings, allowing no runs on one hit and one walk.
