Mississinawa Valley softball team run ruled by Tri-County North

UNION CITY – The Mississinawa Valley softball team lost a Cross County Conference game 13-3 to Tri-County North in a six-inning run rule on Tuesday.

Tri-County North took a 2-0 lead with a single run in both the second and third innings. Mississinawa Valley went up 3-2 in the bottom of the third, but then North scored five runs in the fourth, four in the fifth and two in the sixth while holding the Blackhawks scoreless the rest of the game.

Mississinawa had eight hits and three errors in the game. Tri-County North had 13 hits and one error.

For Mississinawa Valley Kinsie Blocher went 2-for-2, was hit by a pitch and had two RBIs. Taydem Elson was 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored. Leslie Dirksen was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Cassie Emrick and Abby Livingston both went 1-for-3. Bailey Johnson walked and scored a run while Paxton Scholl drove in a run.

Scholl pitched the complete game, allowing 11 earned runs and two unearned runs on 13 hits, six walks, two hit batters and five strikeouts.

Mississinawa Valley fell to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in the CCC with the loss.
