Versailles softball team defeats Fort Loramie

VERSAILLES – The Versailles softball team improved to .500 as the Tigers beat Fort Loramie 6-1 on Tuesday.

Versailles scored two runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings while limiting Fort Loramie to a single run in the top of the fifth. Versailles had nine hits and two errors, and Loramie had four hits and two errors.

Aimee Powell led the Versailles offense by going 3-for-4 with a RBI and two runs scored. Ashlee Voisard went 2-for-2 with a walk and a RBI. Kami McEldowney was 2-for-4.

Kristin Langston and Hailey McEldowney both were 1-for-4 and drove in a run. Kate Stammen scored two runs, and Brynna Blakeley and Sarah Gigandet both scored a run.

Lauren Heitkamp pitched the complete game, allowing one unearned run on four hits, one walk and four strikeouts.

Versailles is now 3-3 on the season. The Tigers will play at Parkway on Thursday.
