Mississinawa Valley’s Paxton Scholl throws a no-hitter vs. Fairlawn

SIDNEY – Paxton Scholl threw a no-hitter as the Mississinawa Valley softball team beat Fairlawn twice in a doubleheader on Saturday.

Mississinawa Valley beat Fairlawn 19-0 in a five-inning run rule in game one. The Hawks scored one run in the first inning, 14 in the second, two in the third and two in the fourth while holding the Jets scoreless.

Mississinawa had 11 hits and no errors in the game. Fairlawn had four hits and four errors.

Taydem Elson went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, three stolen bases, two RBIs and two runs scored. Kinsie Blocher went 2-for-3, had a double, was hit by a pitch, stole three bases, had a RBI and scored three runs. Leslie Dirksen was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and was hit by a pitch. Grace Livingston went 1-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and three RBIs.

Scholl was 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run scored and two RBIs. Bailey Johnson was 1-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Cassie Emrick was 1-for-1 with a double, three walks, three stolen bases, two RBIs and two runs scored. Makayla Coning was 1-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases, a RBI and three runs scored. Abby Livingston stole a base and scored four runs. December Wright walked once, scored a run and drove in a run.

Dirksen pitched the complete game, allowing no runs on four hits, no walks and nine strikeouts.

Mississinawa Valley won the second game 18-0 with Scholl throwing a no-hitter in a five-inning run rule. MV had 11 hits and one error while Fairlawn had no hits and three errors.

Mississinawa scored two runs in the first inning, one in the second, seven in the third, one in the fourth and seven in the fifth while holding Fairlawn scoreless.

Scholl pitched the complete game and allowed no runs on no hits, one walk and five strikeouts.

Dirksen went 4-for-4 in the game with a double, a walk, a RBI and two runs scored. Johnson was 2-for-4 with a walk, a triple, a stolen base, a RBI and two runs scored. Scholl was 1-for-3 with a triple, a RBI and a run scored. Makayla Coning went 1-for-3, walked once, stole a base, scored three runs and drove in three runs.

Blocher was 1-for-3, stole a base, drove in a run and scored two runs. Wright was 1-for-1 with a RBI and a run scored. Livingston was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and scored a run. Emrick walked three times, stole two bases and scored three runs. Elson walked three times and scored three runs.

Mississinawa Valley improved to 3-8 with the wins.
