Mississinawa Valley softball team run ruled by Coldwater

UNION CITY – The Mississinawa Valley softball team lost 19-4 in six innings to Coldwater on Monday.

Coldwater scored one run in the first inning, two in the second and five in the third to take an 8-0 lead before Mississinawa Valley got on the scoreboard with three runs in the both of the third. After both teams scored one run in the fourth inning, Coldwater scored three runs in the fifth and seven in the sixth.

MV had six hits and eight errors in the game while Coldwater had 13 hits and no errors.

Leslie Dirksen went 1-for-3, scored a run and drove in a run for Mississinawa. Kinsie Blocher was 1-for-3 with a double and scored a run. Cassie Emrick was 1-for-3 and scored a run. Taydem Elson, Paxton Scholl and Abby Livingston also had hits while December Wright walked twice and scored a run.

Dirksen pitched four innings and allowed five earned runs and six unearned runs on nine hits, three walks and two strikeouts. Scholl pitched two innings and allowed six earned runs and two unearned runs on four hits, two walks and two strikeouts.
