Lady Wave softball team loses GWOC game to Piqua

PIQUA – The Greenville softball team lost 8-1 to Piqua in a Greater Western Ohio Conference game on Tuesday.

Greenville took a 1-0 lead in the top half of the fourth inning, but Piqua countered with six runs in the bottom of the fourth and two in the fifth.

Greenville had three hits and no errors in the game. Piqua had 12 hits and one error.

Cassie Cromwell went 1-for-3 with a double and scored a run for the Lady Wave. Ashton Kester was 1-for-3 with a RBI. Alli Hill went 1-for-3 with a double.

Allison Minnich pitched five innings and allowed eight runs on 12 hits, no walks, one hit batter and no strikeouts. Sydney Grote pitched a 1-2-3 inning in relief.

Greenville fell to 9-3 overall and 3-2 in the GWOC North with the loss. Piqua improved to 10-1 overall and 5-0 in the GWOC North.
