CASSTOWN – The Ansonia softball team beat Miami East 8-2 in eight innings on Wednesday.
Shelby Hartzell got the win, pitching the last six innings and giving up one hit while striking out three.
Brooke Neal was 3-for-5 with three doubles; Molly Walters was 2-for-4 and scored three times. Monica Stover was 3-for-4 with two doubles. Katelynn Overholser was 1-for-1 with a two-run home run.
Ansonia improved to 9-5 with the win.
