Franklin Monroe baseball team run rules Ansonia

ANSONIA – Franklin Monroe run ruled Ansonia 12-2 in five innings in a Cross County Conference baseball game on Tuesday.

Both teams did their damage early with Franklin Monroe scoring five runs in the first inning and seven in the second. Ansonia scored both of its runs in the bottom half of the first inning.

Franklin Monroe had 14 hits and no errors in the game while Ansonia had seven hits and three errors.

Jared Bundenthal went 2-for-2 with a home run, a walk and four RBIs for Franklin Monroe. Trevor Collins was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and five RBIs. Landon Peters went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and a RBI.

Hunter Rich went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a RBI and two runs. Zach Hyre was 2-for-3 and scored two runs. Cade McGlinch was 1-for-4 with a double and a RBI. Zach Cable scored two runs.

For Ansonia Cody Burnfield was 2-for-3 and drove in a run. Logan Miller was 2-for-3 and scored a run. Lane Clark went 1-for-1 with a double, a walk, a RBI and a run. Dane Wentworth was 1-for-2 with a double.

Cable pitched four innings for Franklin Monroe and allowed two earned runs on six hits, no walks and six strikeouts.

Kane Kimmel was charged with the loss as he pitched the complete game for Ansonia, allowing 12 earned runs on 14 hits, three walks and six strikeouts.
