BRADFORD – Although the weather barely held out for the game the Bradford softball team earned a 10-0 Cross County Conference win against Bethel on Tuesday.

Bradford scored its first two runs in the second inning.

In the third inning the Railroaders scored Olivia Hart, Amanda Brewer, Tori Smith, Bailey Wysong, Ciara Yohey and Hannah Fout to make the score 8-0.

Smith walked in the fourth inning for Bradford. Lindsey Haines ran for Smith and scored on a RBI single to left field by Ciara Yohey.

In the fifth Emily Huggins got a one-out hit to center field and then stole second and third. Hart got hit by a pitch when she came up and then stole second base.

Brewer came up hit to left field, scoring Huggins off a sacrifice and ending the game with a score of 10-0 right before the rain came in.

“We played well tonight,” Bradford softball coach Shon Schaffer said. “We were clicking with both our hitting and our defense. Olivia Heart had a great game with her hits. For defense side our short stop Amanda Brewer looked great.”

The Railroaders’ next game is at 5 p.m. Thursday at Covington.
