Greenville baseball team loses to Beavercreek

BEAVERCREEK – Beavercreek scored seven unanswered runs to defeat the Greenville baseball team 9-5 on Thursday.

After Beavercreek scored a run in the bottom of the first, both teams scored a run in the second inning to make it 2-1 in favor of the Beavers. Greenville took its first lead of the game with four runs in the top of the third, making it 5-2.

Beavercreek scored one in the third and two in the fourth to tie the game at 5-5. The Beavers then scored two runs in the fifth and two in the sixth to win by four.

Greenville had six hits and three errors in the game. Beavercreek had nine hits and no errors.

Logan Eldridge went 2-for-3 with a home run, a stolen base, two RBIs and two runs for Greenville. Brandon Beyke was 2-for-3. Jacob Hounshell was 1-for-3 with a double, a RBI and a run. Landon Eldridge was 1-for-3 with a run. Kyle Mills drove in a run, and Grant Minnich scored a run.

Tyler Netzley pitched five innings and allowed seven earned runs and one unearned run on eight hits, five walks, two hit batters and one strikeout. Peter Pandey pitched one inning, allowing an unearned run on one hit, no walks and one strikeout.

Greenville fell to 8-12 with Thursday’s loss while Beavercreek improved to 16-3.
