Versailles baseball team shuts out St. Marys

VERSAILLES – The Versailles baseball team shut out St. Marys 3-0 on Friday.

All three of Versailles’ runs came in the bottom of the fifth. The Tigers out-hit the Roughriders seven to five.

Keaton McEldowney pitched the complete game, allowing no runs on five hits, three walks and five strikeouts. The sophomore also led Versailles at the plate with two RBIs. He was 1-for-3 and scored a run.

Kyle Subler went 2-for-3 and scored a run for the Tigers. Austin Knapke went 2-for-2. Brett McEldowney was 1-for-3 with a RBI. Cole Niekamp went 1-for-3. Jared Niekamp walked once and scored a run.
