Greenville baseball team loses at Sidney

SIDNEY – Sidney scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh Tuesday to defeat the Greenville baseball team 8-7.

After Greenville scored first in the top half of the first, Sidney took a 3-1 lead in the bottom half of the inning. Greenville scored once in the second and three times in the third to lead 5-3. It was back and forth from there with Sidney taking a 6-5 lead in the fourth, Greenville regaining the lead 7-6 in the top half of the fifth and Sidney tying the game in the bottom half of the fifth before winning it in the seventh.

Greenville had seven hits and five errors in the game. Sidney had nine hits and one error.

Tanner Ross went 2-for-3 with a double, a run and three RBIs for Greenville. Logan Eldridge was 1-for-2 with two walks, two runs and a RBI. Landon Eldridge went 1-for-3 with a double, a RBI and a run.

Kyle Mills was 1-for-4 and scored two runs. Grant Minnich was 1-for-2 with a RBI. Jason Shields went 1-for-3. Brandon Beyke walked once, scored a run and drove in a run.

A.J. Bowers pitched six innings, allowing four earned runs and four unearned runs on eight hits, one walk, one hit batter and four strikeouts. Mills pitched a 1/3 of an inning, allowing one hit.
