Greenville boys tennis team wins GWOC Silver Flight tournament

TROY – The Greenville boys tennis team won the Greater Western Ohio Conference’s Silver Flight tournament on Thursday at Troy.

Greenville’s duo of Alex Lance and Tyler Davis won the first doubles tournament. They beat Wayne’s Luke Curtin and Phil Lipsey 8-0, beat Miamisburg’s Kurtiss Jones and Kareem Ghumrawi 8-2 and then beat Sidney’s Connor Armstrong and Michael Feree 8-6.

The Green Wave’s Austin Grote and Josh Smith won the second doubles tournament. They beat West Carrollton’s Shelby Jordan and Isaiah Conner 8-0, beat Xenia’s Dorien Morris and Spencer Titus 8-0 and then beat Sidney’s Derek Brady and Logan Searcy 8-2.

The Wave’s Quintin Muhlenkamp won the third singles tournament. He beat West Carrollton’s Houston Fine 8-0, beat Trotwood-Madison’s Trevon Battle 8-2 and then beat Sidney’s Daichi Urata 8-1.

In second singles Greenville’s Craig Manges finished as the runner up. He beat West Carrollton’s Noah Fine 8-2, beat Piqua’s Josh Hanes 8-6 and then lost 8-2 to Vandalia-Butler’s Denish Patel in the championship match.

The Green Wave’s Noah Haupt finished fifth in first singles. After losing to Piqua’s Tyler Lavy, he beat Miamisburg’s Casey Reazin 8-1, beat West Carrollton’s Christian Galloway 8-1 and then beat Trotwood-Madison’s Emir Moore 8-5.
