GREENVILLE – Second National Bank President John Swallow presented Friends of Harmon Field with an $80,000 check on Tuesday afternoon at Harmon Field.

“Second National Bank is really pleased and proud to be able to again support Greenville Schools and the Greenville community with our donation to the Friends of Harmon Field,” Swallow said. “This is a great project that our community is getting behind, and we’re glad to be a supporter of the fundraising and the ultimate goal of getting a new stadium here for Greenville High School.”

Friends of Harmon Field is an organization that seeks to modernize the athletic facilities for Greenville Senior High School. The group wants to provide a new track and field complex north of Harmon Field, make improvements to Harmon Field including turf upgrades, create a new facility for restrooms and locker rooms and renovate or replace the concrete stands, seating and press box at Harmon Field.

The estimated cost for the entire project is $4,925,000.

In addition to Second National Bank’s $80,000 donation, Friends of Harmon Field has received a $15,000 donation from Whirlpool Corporation, a $10,000 donation from the Bill Belichick Foundation, a $5,000 donation from Dan and Jeni Berger and other smaller donations.
