Ansonia baseball team run ruled in the OHSAA tournament

CHILLICOTHE – Southeastern run ruled the Ansonia baseball team 11-1 in five innings in the first round of the Ohio High School Athletic Association tournament on Wednesday.

Ansonia scored the game’s first run in the top half of the first inning. Dane Wentworth hit a one-out double and then advanced to second on a sacrifice grounder by Lane Clark. Wentworth then scored on a passed ball, putting the Tigers up 1-0.

From there Southeastern shut down Ansonia and scored 10 unanswered runs to five by a run rule in five innings.

Southeastern had 12 hits and no errors in the game. Ansonia had two hits and three errors.

Wentworth was 1-for-2 with a double and scored a run. Kane Kimmel had Ansonia’s other hit as he also went 1-for-2.

Logan Miller pitched the complete game, allowing 11 runs including six earned runs on 12 hits, one walk and no strikeouts.
