VERSAILLES – Jeremy Shardo, a former all-American and current assistant basketball coach at Walsh University, will help lead a basketball skills camp at Versailles High School.

Shardo, a 2007 Versailles graduate, will lead the camp along with Walsh head men’s basketball coach Jeff Young. Young has the nation’s third best winning percentage in NCAA Division III, was the 2005 national coach of the year and has led the Cavaliers to nine conference championships.

The camp, which is open to boys in the third through 12 grades, will run from July 25-27. It will last from 9 to 11 a.m. each day for third through fifth graders, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for sixth through eighth graders and from 1 to 3 p.m. for high schoolers.

Campers will learn to train like a college athlete, strengthen their fundamentals, improve ball handling shooting and finishing, develop new offensive moves, improve footwork offensively and defensively and increase their basketball knowledge.

Each camper will receive individual skill instruction and a workout packet for the summer.

The cost of the camp is $50.
