Versailles finishes 2nd on tiebreaker at Covington’s Dan Kendig Memorial Golf Tournament

PIQUA – Versailles lost a tiebreaker to Anna and finished as the runner up to Anna at Covington’s Dan Kendig Memorial Golf Tournament on Wednesday at Echo Hill Golf Course.

Both Anna and Versailles shot a 339 for the tournament, but the Rockets beat the Tigers on the fifth-man tiebreaker 98 to 105. The third and fourth place teams were just behind Anna and Versailles with Fairlawn firing a 340 to place third and Fort Loramie shooting a 341 for fourth place.

Milton-Union finished fifth with a 359, Franklin Monroe was sixth with a 361, Newton placed seventh with a 366, Graham finished eighth with a 367, Arcanum was ninth with a 380, Miami East shot a 382 to finish 10th, Russia finished 11th with a 384, National Trail was 12th with a 393, Bethel placed 13th with a 402, Tri-Village finished 14th with a 411, Houston was 15th with a 429, and Covington was 16th with a 460.

Bethel’s Tyler Weinert was the individual medalist with an 18 hole round of 71. Milton-Union’s Parker Puthoff finished second with a 75, Fort Loramie’s Brad Goettemoeller was third with a 77, Versailles’ Nicholas Litten-Stonebraker finished fourth with a 78, and Anna’s Zach Watren was fifth with a 79.

Litten-Stonebraker led Versailles with his 78 while Kyle Cotner shot an 84, Isaac Ruhenkamp shot an 88, Alex Groff had an 89, Alex Keiser shot a 105, and Will Eversole recorded a 106.

Jeremy Bridenbaugh led Franklin Monroe with an 86. Also for the Jets, Noah Koffer shot a 90, Bryce Filbrun shot a 92, Derek Lusher shot a 93, Hunter Rich shot a 93, and Luke Booher shot a 105.

Steven Vanatta led Arcanum with an 81. Also for the Trojans, Carter Gray shot a 91, Cade Brubaker shot a 101, Cameron Warner shot a 105, Jack Shannon shot a 115, and Isaiah Smith shot a 123.

Luke Wheeler led Tri-Village with a 91. Also for the Patriots, Gage Hileman shot a 96, Dillon McCullough shot a 110, Jakob French shot a 114, Corbin Holzapfel shot a 119, and Brenden Durst shot a 133.

Franklin Monroe’s Bryce Filbrun and Jeremy Bridenbaugh both won closest to the hole competitions. Fort Loramie’s Brad Goettemoeller and Bethel’s Tyler Weinert won longest drive competitions.
