GREENVILLE – The Greenville girls tennis team bounced back from its first loss of the season to defeat Fairborn 5-0 on Tuesday.
After starting the year 8-0, Greenville suffered its first loss of the season on Thursday with a 3-2 defeat at Brookville.
In first doubles Greenville’s Molly Hunt and Larisa Schmitmeyer beat Madee Rozelle and Allison Winterbotham 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. In second doubles the Lady Wave’s Addie Haupt and Amber Hutt beat Gabby Wakefield and Hanna May 6-2, 6-3.
Greenville lost all three of the singles matches. In first singles Natalie Milligan lost 6-3, 6-2 to Laura Bowen, in second singles Anna Manges lost 6-3, 6-3 to Grace Rohrer, and in third singles Abby Swensen lost 6-4, 7-5 to Leena Kokaldas.
Greenville’s junior varsity team beat Brookville 3-2.
Casey Malott and Marabelle Lance won their singles matches while the duo of Amanda Chui and Valerie Myers won in doubles. Chloie Graves and Katie Baughman plus Alison Baughman and Chloie Graves lost doubles matches.
On Tuesday Greenville swept Fairborn.
Natalie Milligan beat Brooklyn Hunter 6-4, 6-0 in first singles, Anna Manges beat Acadia Wulf 6-1, 6-0 in second singles, and Abby Swensen beat Kyla Secrest 6-1, 6-2 in third singles.
In first doubles Molly Hunt and Larisa Schmitmeyer beat Shayna Osborne and Preslee Chapman 6-3, 7-5 while Marabelle Lance and Addie Haupt beat Dakota Thacker and Megan Koonce 6-0, 6-0.
Greenville also won the junior varsity match against Fairborn 4-0.
Casey Malott won a singles match. The pairs of Amber Hutt and Alison Baughman, Chloie Graves and Katie Baughman, and Amanda Chui and Valerie Myers all won doubles matches.
Greenville improved to 9-1 overall and 5-0 in the Greater Western Ohio Conference by defeating Fairborn.
