Bradford’s Karmen Knepp, Franklin Monroe’s Cole Good win at National Trail’s cross country meet

NEW PARIS – Bradford’s Karmen Knepp and Franklin Monroe’s Cole Good won individual championships on Saturday at National Trail’s Blazer Invitational cross country meet.

Good won the high school boys race in 17:04, defeating Valley View’s Trevor Paringer by four seconds for the victory. Knepp won the high school girls race in 19:44, defeating Arcanum’s Marcy Bradshaw by 56 seconds.

The best team finish by a Darke County squad came from the Franklin Monroe girls, who finished second behind Valley View. Arcanum finished third in the high school girls meet, Ansonia was fourth, Greenville finished fifth, Tri-County North finished sixth, Tri-Village was seventh, and Mississinawa Valley finished eighth.

Audrey Cable led the Franklin Monroe girls, finishing sixth overall in a time of 22:22. Also for the Lady Jets, Nicole Brocious finished ninth in 22:55, Selene Weaver finished 11th in 23:20, Danielle McVey finished 20th in 24:44, Cayley Baker finished 22nd in 24:57, Scout Meyer finished 38th in 27:50, Keara Knepshield finished 43rd in 28:35, Taylor Hackney finished 45th in 28:58, and Hannah Berry finished 46th in 29:25.

Bradshaw led Arcanum’s girls with her second place finish, finishing the race in 20:40. Also for the Lady Trojans, Mara Wetzel finished eighth in 22:44, Kayla O’Daniel finished 21st in 24:53, Lana Johnson finished 40th in 28:02, Emma Smith finished 48th in 31:09, Makennah Hutcheson finished 56th in 34:56, Mekenna Gunckel finished 59th in 37:16, and Marlee Hess finished 60th in 41:18.

Olivia Wright led Ansonia’s girls, finishing seventh overall with a time of 22:31. Also for the Lady Tigers, Skyler Marker finished 16th in 24:18, Stefani Garrett finished 26th in 25:32, Katie Werts finished 34th in 27:03, Aleesha Gates finished 51st in 32:20, and Millie Widener finished 57th in 35:38.

Chloe Sowry led Greenville’s girls by finishing 17th overall in 24:22. Also for the Lady Wave, Macy Godown finished 19th in 24:32, Kelsie Ruble finished 25th in 25:30, Florentine Schaefermeie finished 27th in 25:53, and Emma Jennings finished 50th in 32:12.

Lissa Siler led Tri-Village’s girls, finishing 18th with a time of 24:29. Also for the Lady Patriots, Shelby Holzapfel finished 30th in 26:18, Becky O’Connor finished 32nd in 26:21, MacKenzie Stucky finished 37th in 27:39, and Kathryn Combs finished 52nd in 32:49.

Whitney King led the Mississinawa Valley girls by finishing 47th overall in 30:45. Also for the Lady Hawks, Casey Carrico finished 53rd in 32:52, Isabella Barga finished 54th in 33:11, Abby Abel finished 55th in 33:44, Lindsay Wright finished 58th in 36:17, and Piper Phillips finished 61st in 44:15.

Knepp led Bradford’s girls with her time of 19:44 to pace the 61-girl field. Also for the Lady Railroaders, Maia Stump finished 14th in 23:48, and Elisa Martinez finished 31st in 26:19.

In the high school boys meet, Franklin Monroe was the top Darke County team as the Jets finished third behind champion Valley View and runner up National Trail. Arcanum finished fourth, Tri-County North finished fifth, Bradford finished sixth, and Ansonia finished seventh.

Good led Franklin Monroe’s boys with his time of 17:04 to pace the 69-runner field. Also for the Jets, Zach Gilliland finished 14th in 18:26, John Myers finished 17th in 18:41, Ross Thayer finished 24th in 19:23, Jacob Meyer finished 34th in 20:39, Justin Chen finished 36th in 21:13, Alex Schmitmeyer finished 38th in 21:20, Isaac Schmitmeyer finished 41st in 21:25, Adrian Nelson finished 60th in 25:23, Jonathan Chen finished 63rd in 25:56, and Hunter Willoughby finished 64th in 26:01.

Isaac Stephens led the Arcanum boys as he finished fourth overall in a time of 17:41. Also for the Trojans, Tanner Delk finished seventh in 18:01, Chance Klipstine finished 23rd in 19:16, Mitchel Wogomon finished 51st in 22:42, Jimmy Barry finished 55th in 23:31, and Auris Alderman finished 62nd in 25:53.

Jackson Moore led Bradford’s boys by finishing 18th overall in 18:47. Also for the Railroaders, Jay Roberts finished 20th in 19:04, Johnny Fike finished 25th in 19:29, Shane Bryan finished 46th in 21:42, Kurt Hoover finished 49th in 22:00, and Joe Roth finished 58th in 24:37.

Michael Hall led the Ansonia boys as he finished 39th overall with a time of 21:21. Also for the Tigers, Brandon Thornhill finished 40th in 21:22, Daniel Shaner finished 48th in 21:57, Tyler Neal finished 54th in 23:08, and Jacob Vietor finished 61st in 25:43.

Levi Emerick led Greenville’s boys by finishing 28th overall in a time of 19:55. Also for the Green Wave, Tyler Strait finished 44th in 21:38, and Nicholas Colby finished 68th in 27:38.

Landen Fraylick led Tri-Village’s boys, finishing 37th in 21:16. Also for the Patriots, Kamron Berghoff finished 52nd in 22:46, Cameron Armstrong finished 57th in 24:04, and Tanner Jones finished 66th in 27:13.

Dalton Marker led Mississinawa Valley’s boys by finishing 47th overall in 21:43.
