Versailles’ Kyle Cotner finishes 27th in OHSAA district golf tournament

CINCINNATI – Versailles senior Kyle Cotner finished his high school golf career with a 27th place finish in the district boys golf tournament on Friday at Glenview Golf Course.

Cotner shot a 41 on both the front and back nines in the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division II district tournament for an 18-hole round of 82. He tied West Liberty-Salem’s Dillon Callicoat and Kannon Stillings for 27th place among the 72 golfers.

Wyoming’s Cooper Hausfeld was the district tournament medalist with a round of 72.

Shawnee’s Grant Engle with a 74, Madison’s Phillip Wilson with a 74 and Valley View’s Ben Herman with a 75 qualified for the state tournament as individuals. Herman beat Indian Hill’s Alex Major in a playoff for the final state-qualifying spot.

McNicholas with a 309, Wyoming with a 313 and Oakwood with a 319 qualified for state as teams.
