NEW PARIS – Ansonia traveled to National Trail Thursday evening for a Cross County Conference girls basketball game and came home with a 47-42 victory.

National Trail led 19-15 through one quarter before Ansonia took a 29-25 halftime lead. Ansonia increased its lead to 38-32 in the third quarter on its way to a 5-piont win.

Jailyn Thwaits had a double-double for Ansonia with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Bailey Stammen also had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Tigers. Trinity Henderson added 9 points.

Ansonia improved to 7-8 overall and 4-4 in the CCC with the win. National Trail fell to 7-7 overall and 2-4 in the CCC.

Ansonia will play host to Miami East on Saturday in another CCC game.
