ANSONIA – Miami East pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat Ansonia 45-32 in a Cross County Conference girls basketball game on Saturday.

Jailyn Thwaits led Ansonia with 11 points, nine rebounds and five steals. Trinity Henderson also scored 11 points. Bailey Stammen had seven rebounds.

Ansonia fell to 7-9 overall and 4-5 in the CCC with the loss. Miami East improved to 7-9 overall and 5-4 in the CCC.

Ansonia has three home games this week beginning with a game against Union City on Tuesday.
