Ansonia boys basketball team wins at Miami East

CASSTOWN – Led by Devyn Sink’s 32 points Ansonia held on to beat Miami East 59-57 in a Cross County Conference boys basketball game Friday night.

After Miami East took an 11-7 lead in the first quarter Ansonia went up 28-18 in the second quarter. East cut Ansonia’s lead to 44-40 in the third quarter, but Ansonia was able to pull out a 2-point victory.

Sink led Ansonia with his game-high 32 points. Also for the Tigers, Aydan Sanders scored 11 points, Hunter Muir scored 8, Hunter Buckingham scored 3, Lane Clark scored 3, and Trevor Alexander scored 2. Muir also had 12 rebounds and five assists.

Logan West led Miami East with 24 points. Also for the Vikings, Austin Kearns scored 13 points, Justin Brown scored 12, Austin Rutledge scored 5, and Dalton Taynor scored 3.

Ansonia improved to 8-8 overall and 6-4 in the CCC with the win while Miami East fell to 9-6 overall and 4-4 in the league.
