ANSONIA – The Ansonia boys basketball team celebrated its senior night on Saturday with a 66-56 victory against Riverside.
Ansonia trailed 15-13 at the end of the first quarter but took a 36-27 lead in the second quarter. Riverside cut Ansonia’s lead to 44-42 in the third quarter before the Tigers pulled away for a 10-point victory.
Hunter Muir led Ansonia with 24 points in the game. Also for the Tigers, Devyn Sink scored 14 points, Lane Clark scored 8, Trevor Alexander scored 6, Aydan Sanders scored 5, Keith Burk scored 3, Kane Kimmel scored 3, and Brayden Swabb scored 3.
Kyle Knight led Riverside with 15 points. Also for the Pirates, Trey Helmlinger scored 13 points, Hunter Kreglow scored 12, Tyler Sanford scored 8, and Lane Willoby scored 6.
Ansonia improved to 12-9 with the victory while Riverside fell to 7-13.
Ansonia honored seniors Keith Burk, Lane Clark and Kane Kimmel prior the game.
