Greenville’s Isabella Gable qualifies for OHSAA state swim meet

OXFORD – Greenville sophomore swimmer Isabella Gable qualified for state in the girls 200 yard freestyle and 500 yard freestyle.

The Greenville swim teams competed in the Ohio High School Athletic Association district swim meet on Friday at Miami University.

Gable finished fourth in the girls 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.13 and fourth in the girls 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:01.53 to qualify for state in both events.

Other Greenville swimmers concluded their seasons at the district meet.

Greenville’s team of Gable, Isabel Elliott, Maggie Bankson and Kelsie Ruble finished 16th in the girls 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:02.37.

The Lady Wave quartet of Bankson, Cassey Bolyard, Elliott and Gable finished 18th in the girls 400 yard freestyle with a time of 4:06.75.

Bankson finished 21st in the girls 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:23.18. The freshman finished 28th in the girls 500 yard freestyle in a time of 5:42.81.

The quartet of Jacob Subler, Pablo Badell, Seth Conway and Josh Smith finished 21st in the boys 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:52.72.

Greenville’s team of Conway, Shane Barga, Brayden Price and Smith finished 22nd in the boys 400 yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:48.51.

Conway finished 28th in the boys 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.64. The junior finished 31st in the boys 200 yard freestyle in a time of 2:01.83.

Gable will swim in the OHSAA Division II state swim meet at 5 p.m. Thursday at C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton.
