Bradford baseball team ties New Knoxville

NEW KNOXVILLE – Bradford tied New Knoxville 7-7 in a baseball game on Monday, which was suspended in the sixth inning.

New Knoxville scored first with two runs in the bottom of the first. After Bradford took a 3-2 lead in the top of the second, New Knoxville tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom half of the inning.

New Knoxville regained the lead with three runs in the third inning, but Bradford went ahead 7-6 with four runs in the top of the fourth. New Knoxville then tied the game at 7-7 in the bottom of the fourth.

Bradford had eight hits and three errors on Monday while New Knoxville had six hits and one error.

Mason Justice led Bradford offensively by going 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base, a run and four RBI. Bryant Byers was 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, a run and a RBI. Parker Smith went 1-for-3, walked once, stole two runs and scored two runs.

Alex Swabb was 1-for-3 and scored a run. Bryson Canan was 1-for-3 and was hit by a pitch. Josh Phillips walked once, stole a base and scored a run. Clay Layman also scored a run.

Fischer Spencer pitched the complete game for Bradford, allowing four earned runs and three unearned runs on six hits, three walks, one hit batter and four strikeouts.
