Greenville baseball team loses at Piqua

PIQUA – Greenville lost 7-5 to Piqua in a Greater Western Ohio Conference baseball game on Tuesday.

Greenville scored first with a run in the top half of the first inning, but Piqua tied the game in the bottom half of the frame and went up 5-1 in the second inning. Greenville scored two runs in the third inning to cut its deficit to 5-3 then Piqua added one in the fourth. Greenville added two more runs in the top half of the sixth, and Piqua scored the game’s final run in the bottom of the sixth.

Piqua had seven hits and four errors while Greenville had nine hits and two errors.

Jason Shields went 2-for-4 for Greenville. Landon Eldridge was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and two runs. Logan Eldridge was 1-for-3, was hit by a pitch, stole a base and drove in a run. Peter Pandey was 1-for-3 with a RBI.

Tyler Beyke went 1-for-4 with a RBI. Tanner Ross was 1-for-4 and scored a run. Brandon Beyke went 1-for-3. Kyle Mills was 1-for-4. Grant Minnich scored a run.

Pandey was charged with the loss as he pitched two innings, allowing two earned runs and three unearned runs on three hits, three walks, three hit batters and one strikeout. Tyler Beyke pitched four innings and allowed one earned run and one unearned run on four hits, no walks and four strikeouts.
