Franklin Monroe baseball team run rules Ansonia

PITSBURG – Franklin Monroe run ruled Ansonia 13-3 in five innings of Cross County Conference baseball on Thursday.

Ansonia took a 1-0 lead in the top half of the first inning then Franklin Monroe scored two runs in the bottom half of the frame to go up 2-1. Ansonia regained the lead with two runs in the top of the third, but FM responded with 11 unanswered runs – three in the third, five in the fourth and three in the fifth.

Franklin Monroe had 16 hits and one error while Ansonia had five hits and five errors.

Franklin Monroe’s Zach Cable was 3-for-4 with three triples, four runs and two RBI. Noah Koffer was 3-for-4 and scored three runs. Trevor Collins went 3-for-4 and scored a run.

Cade McGlinch was 2-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and three RBI. FM’s Levi Altic was 2-for-4, drove in two runs and scored three runs. Timothy Lawson and Logan Ressler both went 1-for-3 and drove in a run. Bryce Filbrun was 1-for-4. Larkin Ressler drove in two runs.

Ansonia’s Keith Burk was 1-for-2 with a walk and a RBI. Rygh Fortkamp was 1-for-3 with a triple and a RBI. Lane Clark was 1-for-3 with a double, a RBI and a run. Kane Kimmel and Devyn Sink both went 1-for-3 and scored a run.

Lawson pitched the complete game for Franklin Monroe, allowing two earned runs and one unearned run on five hits, one walk and nine strikeouts.

Fortkamp pitched 3 1/3 innings for Ansonia, allowing five earned runs and five unearned runs on 11 hits, no walks and one strikeout. Sink pitched one inning, allowing two earned runs and one unearned run on five hits and no walks.
