Greenville baseball team beats Sidney 16-10

GREENVILLE – The Greenville baseball team beat Sidney 16-10 in a high-scoring Greater Western Ohio Conference game on Monday.

Sidney struck first with four runs in the top half of the first inning then Greenville took a 6-4 lead in the bottom half of the inning. After Sidney tied the game at 6-6 in the top of the second, Greenville scored five runs in the second and three in the third to go up 14-6. Sidney scored its final four runs in the fifth inning while Greenville added two in the sixth.

Greenville and Sidney both had 15 hits. The Green Wave committed one error while the Yellow Jackets committed two.

Kyle Mills went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, three runs and five RBI for Greenville. Jason Shields was 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, two runs and four RBI. Logan Eldridge was 3-for-3, walked, was hit by a pitch and scored three runs. Tanner Ross was 3-for-5 and scored two runs.

Peter Pandey went 1-for-3, walked twice, drove in a run and scored three runs. Tyler Beyke was 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs. Landon Eldridge was 1-for-5 with a double, a stolen base and a RBI. Brandon Beyke was hit by a pitch, walked twice and scored a run. Grant Minnich was hit by a pitch and drove in a run.

Tyler Beyke earned the win as he pitched four innings, allowing four earned runs on seven hits, three walks and two strikeouts. Pandey went two innings on the mound, allowing five earned runs and one unearned run on eight hits, two walks and three strikeouts. Owen Paulus pitched one scoreless inning, allowing no hits or walks while striking out one.
