Ansonia baseball team run rules Fairlawn

SIDNEY – Ansonia run ruled Fairlawn 13-3 in five innings of baseball on Tuesday.

Ansonia jumped out to an 11-0 lead with two runs in the first inning, four in the second and three in the third. Fairlawn cut its deficit to 11-2 with a run in the third and one in the fourth. Ansonia then added two runs in the top of the fifth and Fairlawn scored one in the bottom half of the inning for the 13-3 final score.

Ansonia had seven hits and four errors. Fairlawn had three hits and six errors.

Lane Clark went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a stolen base, three runs and three RBI. Devyn Sink was 1-for-3 with a double, a RBI and two runs. Caleb Jones was 1-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base. Tyler Neal went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base, a RBI and a run.

Rygh Fortkamp was 1-for-4 with a RBI and a run. Zac Longenecker was 1-for-4, stole a base and scored a run. Kane Kimmel walked once, stole a base and scored three runs. Ethan Fischer walked twice and scored two runs. Keith Burk drove in two runs.

Clark pitched the complete game, allowing one earned run and two unearned runs on three hits, two walks and six strikeouts.
