Bradford baseball team defeats Covington

BRADFORD – Bradford beat Covington 5-2 in a Cross County Conference baseball game on Wednesday.

Covington scored the game’s first run in the top half of the fourth inning. Bradford scored two runs in the fourth inning and three in the sixth while Covington scored the game’s final run in the seventh.

Bradford had seven hits and no errors, and Covington had nine hits and one error.

Walker Branson went 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, a run and two RBI. Jeff Wolf went 1-for-2, was hit by a pitch and drove in a run. Bryant Byers was 1-for-3 with a RBI and a run. Mason Justice went 1-for-3, stole a base and scored a run. Dillon Reck was 1-for-3 with a RBI. Bryson Canan was 1-for-4 and scored a run. Alex Swabb walked once and scored a run.

Parker Smith pitched the complete game, allowing two earned runs on nine hits, one walk and 14 strikeouts.
