Arcanum softball team shares CCC championship

DARKE COUNTY – Arcanum won a share of the 2017 Cross County Conference softball championship along with Covington, National Trail and Newton.

All four teams finished conference play with 10-2 records. Franklin Monroe finished fifth in the league at 9-3 while Bradford and Tri-Village tied for sixth at 7-5. Tri-County North finished eighth with a 5-7 record, Ansonia was ninth at 4-8, Twin Valley South finished 10th with a 3-9 record, Bethel finished 11th at 2-10, Mississinawa Valley was 12th at 1-11, and Miami East finished 13th at 0-12.

Ansonia’s Trinity Henderson, Arcanum’s Brittany Kinney, Arcanum’s McKenzie Sharritts, Bradford’s Tatyana Cottrell, Franklin Monroe’s Emilee Morris, Franklin Monroe’s Kennedy Morris and Tri-Village’s Trisa Porter were named first team all-CCC.

Ansonia’s Jailyn Thwaits, Arcanum’s Gracie Garno, Arcanum’s Elle Siculan, Bradford’s Olivia Hart, Bradford’s Bianca Keener and Tri-Village’s Allie Downing were named second team all-conference.

Ansonia’s Kayla Saintignon, Arcanum’s Shai Robinson, Bradford’s Bailey Wysong, Franklin Monroe’s Kinsey Goins, Mississinawa Valley’s Bailey Johnson and Tri-Village’s Payge Malott made the CCC’s special mention team.
