Kerry Madsen wins on 1st night of Eldora Speedway’s Kings Royal

ROSSBURG – Eldora held the first night of its Kings Royal after a very long rain delay Thursday night, and Kerry Madsen walks away with the win.

The race started around 10:30 p.m. Thursday when the rain delay was over and track finally was dried.

For the first four heats the top five transferred and the top two went to the dash. All heat races were eight laps each.

In heat one taking home the black and white checkered was the 49X of Tim Shaffer followed by the 2M of Kerry Madsen in second, the 15 of Donny Schatz in third, in fourth was Paul McMahan and fifth was the 93 of Sheldon Haudenschild.

The 18 of Ian Madsen took home first for heat two followed by the 11E of Kraig Kinser in second, third was the 2 of Shane Stewart, fourth was the W20 of Greg Wilson and fifth was 49D of Shawn Dancer.

Heat three saw 5 of David Gravel take first, second was the 49 of Brad Sweet, third was the 10H of Chad Kemenah, fourth was the 17 of Jac Haudenschild and fifth was the 99 of Brady Bacon.

The 21 of Brian Brown won heat four and was followed in the top five by the 9 of Daryn Pittman, the 41 of Jason Johnson, the 41S of Dominic Scelzi and the 1S of Logan Schuchart.

The Craftsman Club Dash was six laps with top two from each heat race. Finishing first was the 2M of Kerry Madsen, in second was the 49 of Brad Sweet, third was the 21 of Brian Brown, fourth was the 5 of David Gravel and fifth was the 49X of Tim Shaffer.

Next was the C Main, which was 10 laps. Placing first was the 45 of Trevor Baker, second was the 3H of James McFadden, third was the 19 of Paige Polyak, fourth was the 23 of D.J. Foos and fifth was the17X of Josh Baughman.

The Last Chance Showdown saw 12N of Cole Duncan taking home the black and white checkered followed by the 81 of Lee Jacobs in second, third was the 24 of Rico Abreu, fourth was the 19 of Brent Marks and fifth was the 7K of Cale Conley.

In the feature, which was 30 laps, the 2M of Kerry Madsen took home $10,000 for coming in first, second was the 49 of Brad Sweet who won $5,500, third was the 21 of Brian Brown who took home $3,200, fourth was the 49X of Tim Shaffer taking home $2,800 and fifth was the 5 of David Gravel taking home $2,500. Madsen led all 30 laps for his fourth win for the season.

Racing at the Kings Royal continues at 8 p.m. tonight.
