Arcanum cross country runner Tanner Delk wins Eaton’s Ed Leas Fall Classic

EATON – Arcanum cross country runner Tanner Delk won his third consecutive race on Saturday, winning the Ed Leas Fall Classic with a time of 16:39.47.

Delk beat Eaton’s Alex McCarty by more than 21 seconds at the Ed Leas Fall Classic to win the varsity boys race, which included 163 runners.

Led by Delk, the Arcanum boys finished seventh out of 17 schools in the team standings. Also for the Trojans, Landon Kreusch finished 49th overall in 19:10.88, Dakota White finished 70th in 20:11.28, Logan Todd finished 74th in 20:27.48, Ethan Moores finished 89th in 21:04.34, Jimmy Barry finished 112th in 22:24.23, and Mitchel Wogomon finished 145th in 25:02.66.

Ansonia’s boys finished 12th in the team standings. Logan Warner finished 46th overall with a time of 19:05.81 to lead the Tigers, Brayden Swabb finished 56th in 19:25.03, Garrett Kaiser finished 97th in 21:21.57, Michael Hall finished 109th in 22:13.46, Kyle Thornhill finished 118th in 22:46.61, Daniel Shaner finished 136th in 24:14.47, and Jacob Vietor finished 158th in 29:26.47.

The Mississinawa Valley boys finished 16th in the team standings. Dalton Marker finished 88th overall in 21:04.12 to lead the Blackhawks, Brenden King finished 114th in 22:29.97, Roman Dircksen finished 121st in 22:50.84, Michael Rammel finished 129th in 23:32.65, Zachary Longfellow finished 134th in 24:03.65, and Shawn Wogoman finished 151st in 25:43.36.

Kings won the varsity boys and girls team championships. Kings’ Leah Maschino won the varsity girls race, which included 117 runners, with a time of 19:20.48.

The Ansonia girls finished eighth out of 13 schools in the team standings. Olivia Wright finished 23rd overall in 22:11.64 to lead the Lady Tigers, Katie Werts finished 51st overall in 24:42.08, Lydia Snyder finished 53rd in 24:44.39, Mariah Troutwine finished 63rd in 25:32.69, Breena Hall finished 66th in 26:08.98, Amber Bergman finished 86th in 28:29.30, and Ava Kammer finished 100th in 30:48.08.

Arcanum’s girls finished ninth in the team standings. Mara Wetzel finished 22nd overall in 22:10.64 to lead the Lady Trojans, Kayla O’Daniel finished 77th in 27:20.24, Aidan O’Brien finished 79th in 27:34.14, Paige Kreusch finished 82nd in 28:08.29, Lana Johnson finished 96th in 30:02.44, and Mekenna Gunckel finished 111th in 34:19.38.

Mississinawa Valley’s girls didn’t have enough runners to record a team score. The Lady Hawks’ Gabby Rammel finished 99th in 30:18.34 while Piper Phillips finished 109th in 34:12.58.
