COLUMBUS – Three Greater Western Ohio Conference teams and four Midwest Athletic Conference teams remain as the Ohio High School Athletic Association playoffs enter the regional semifinals.
In Division I Region 3 top-seeded Centerville from the GWOC shut out Hilliard Darby 35-0 in the first round of the playoffs. The Elks now advance to play fifth-seeded Pickerington North at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Springfield Evans Stadium.
In Division II Region 8 fourth-seeded Sidney from the GWOC beat Dayton Belmont 46-33 in the regional quarterfinals. The Yellow Jackets advance to play top-seeded Cincinnati La Salle at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Miamisburg Holland Field.
In Division III Region 12 top-seeded Trotwood-Madison from the GWOC beat Elida 48-7 to begin postseason play. The Rams now advance to play fifth-seeded Dayton Dunbar at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Vandalia Butler Memorial Field at Good Samaritan Athletic Complex.
In Division VI Region 24 second-seeded Marion Local shutout fellow MAC team Fort Recovery 27-0 in the regional quarterfinals. The Flyers advance to play third-seeded Spencerville at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Piqua Alexander Stadium.
Also in Region 24, Coldwater from the MAC beat Bethel from the Cross County Conference 42-7 in the first round of the playoffs. The Cavaliers advance to play top-seeded Lima Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wapakoneta Harmon Field.
In Division VII Region 28 third-seeded Delphos St. John’s from the MAC beat DeGraff Riverside 48-21 to begin postseason play. The Blue Jays advance to play second-seeded Lehman Catholic at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Harrod Allen East Goodwin Field.
Also in Region 28 fourth-seeded Minster from the MAC beat Fort Loramie from the CCC 40-24 in the first round of the playoffs. The Wildcats advance to play top-seeded Convoy Crestview, who beat Ansonia 63-22 in the regional quarterfinals, at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Lima Spartan Stadium.
Teams from the CCC, GWOC and MAC ended their seasons in the regional quarterfinals.
Wayne from the GWOC lost 41-20 to Pickerington North in the Division I Region 3 playoffs.
Northmont from the GWOC lost 41-21 to Pickerington Central in the Division I Region 3 playoffs.
Fairmont from the GWOC lost 49-14 to Hilliard Bradley in the Division I Region 3 playoffs.
Troy from the GWOC lost 33-0 to Cincinnati Anderson in the Division II Region 8 playoffs.
Anna from the MAC lost 14-10 to Middletown Madison in the Division V Region 20 playoffs.
Miami East from the CCC lost 27-25 to Reading in the Division V Region 20 playoffs.
