VANDALIA – Arcanum’s comeback attempt fell short on Saturday as the Lady Trojan basketball team lost 41-38 at Vandalia-Butler.

Arcanum trailed 9-3 at the end of the first quarter and 26-18 at halftime. Vandalia led 36-25 through three quarters and held on for a 3-point victory.

Camille Pohl led Arcanum with 9 points in the loss.

Vandalia’s Tyree Fletcher led all scorers with a game-high 14 points while Abbie Schoenherr added 11 for the Aviators.

Arcanum, which fell to 2-2 with the loss, will play host to Versailles on Tuesday.
