Franklin Monroe girls basketball team loses at Miami East


CASSTOWN – The Franklin Monroe girls basketball team lost 48-32 to Miami East in a Cross County Conference game on Thursday.

Miami East led 11-9 through one quarter and increased its lead to 26-18 entering halftime. The Vikings led 33-22 through three quarters on their way to a 16-point win.

Audrey Cable led Franklin Monroe with 9 points in Thursday’s game. Also for the Jets, Corina Conley scored 8 points, Belle Cable scored 5, Kennedy Morris scored 4, Chloe Brumbaugh scored 3, Chloe Peters scored 2, and Stella Shellabarger scored 1.

Morgan Haney led Miami East with a game-high 22 points. Also for the Vikings, Kaitlyn Mack scored 9 points, Camryn Miller scored 8, Haley Howard scored 4, Bailey Miller scored 3, Emily Adkins scored 1, and Maria Staton scored 1.

Franklin Monroe fell to 7-2 overall and 3-2 in the CCC with Thursday’s loss. The Jets will play host to National Trail on Dec. 28.
