Greenville baseball team wins at Stebbins

DAYTON – The Greenville baseball team run ruled Stebbins 18-3 in five innings on Wednesday.

Greenville quickly jumped out to a 7-0 lead with two runs in the first inning and five in the second. Stebbins scored runs in the second and third innings to cut its deficit to 7-2 then Greenville added four runs in the fourth and seven in the fifth to lead 18-2. Stebbins scored the game’s final run in the bottom of the fifth.

Greenville out-hit Stebbins 13 to five on Wednesday. Both teams committed two errors.

Tony Sells was 3-for-4 with a stolen base, three runs and three RBIs for Greenville. Landon Eldridge was 2-for-3, was hit by a pitch, stole four bases and scored a run. Kyle Mills went 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk, a stolen base, three runs and two RBIs. Alec Fletcher was 1-for-2 with a triple, two walks, a run and two RBIs.

Terry Miller was 1-for-1 with a double and two RBIs. Colton Zumbrun was 1-for-1 with a RBI. Ethan Saylor was 1-for-2, walked, was hit by a pitch, scored two runs and drove in a run. Reed Hanes went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs and a RBI. Tytan Grote was 1-for-3, walked and scored two runs. Karsyn Fender was 1-for-4, stole two bases and scored a run. Tyler Beyke walked twice, stole two bases, scored two runs and drove in a run. Ethan Flannery walked and scored a run.

Beyke earned the win as he pitched four innings, allowing two unearned runs on four hits, two walks and three strikeouts. Cameron Kaiser pitched one innings, allowing an unearned run on one hit, one walk and two strikeouts.

Greenville improved to 3-4 with the win.
