Greenville baseball team wins at Sidney

SIDNEY – Greenville beat Sidney 9-4 in a Greater Western Ohio Conference baseball game on Monday.

Greenville scored the game’s first runs with two in the first inning and one in the third then Sidney tied the game at 3-3 with two in the bottom of the third and one in the fourth. Greenville scored the next six runs with one in the fifth, three in the sixth and two in the seventh before Sidney scored the game’s final run in the bottom of the seventh.

Greenville had 10 hits and one error while Sidney had nine hits and one error.

Marcus Wood was 3-for-3 with a triple, two stolen bases, three runs and a RBI. Landon Eldridge was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, a stolen base, two runs and two RBIs. Ethan Saylor was 2-for-4 with a run and a RBI.

Terry Miller went 1-for-1 with a run and a RBI. Tyler Beyke was 1-for-3 with a walk, a two stolen bases and a RBI. Karsyn Fender was 1-for-3 with a walk and a RBI. Alec Fletcher walked twice, stole three bases and scored two runs. Kyle Mills drove in a run.

Mills earned the win as he pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing three earned runs and one unearned run on eight hits, two walks, one hit batter and five strikeouts. Colton Zumbrun pitched 2/3 of an inning and gave up no runs on one hit, two walks and one strikeout.
