Tri-Village baseball team wins at Troy Christian

TROY – The Tri-Village baseball team overcame an 8-3 deficit to defeat Troy Christian 14-8 on Thursday.

Troy Christian scored the game’s first four runs in the bottom half of the first inning. Tri-Village scored three in the top of the second, but Troy Christian scored four in the bottom half of the frame to lead 8-3. Tri-Village then scored 11 unanswered runs with one in the third, two in the fourth, four in the fifth, two in the sixth and two in the seventh.

Tri-Village had 12 hits and one error while Troy Christian had six hits and five errors.

Christian Ricker went 4-for-5 with four stolen bases and four RBIs. Jared Buckley was 3-for-4 with a double, two stolen bases, two runs and a RBI. Gage Hileman was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and two RBIs. Trey Frech was 1-for-2 with two walks, three runs and a RBI. Mason Sullenbarger went 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs and two RBIs.

Frech pitched one-plus innings, allowing six earned runs and two unearned runs on five hits and five walks. Dylan Finkbine earned the win as he pitched six scoreless innings, allowing one hit and four walks while striking out six.

Tri-Village improved to 10-8 with the win.
