Franklin Monroe drops out of state soccer rankings

COLUMBUS – The Franklin Monroe boys soccer team dropped out of the state rankings this week but maintained its spot in the Miami Valley rankings.

The Franklin Monroe boys are unranked in the fifth weekly Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association state poll after receiving votes last week. The Jets have been ranked in two of this season’s five state polls with a season-best of No. 10 in the first poll of the year.

Despite falling in the state rankings, Franklin Monroe remained No. 3 in Division III in the Miami Valley Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association rankings. The Jets, who matched a season-best with the third place ranking, are ranked behind Greeneview and Dayton Christian in the local Division III poll.

The Franklin Monroe boys soccer team is the only Darke County team ranked in either the local or state soccer rankings.

The Greater Western Ohio Conference’s Lebanon boys are ranked fourth in the Division I state rankings, and the GWOC’s Beavercreek boys are ranked ninth in the in Division I rankings.

The GWOC’s Springboro girls are third in the Division I state rankings, and the Lebanon girls from the GWOC also received votes in Division I.
