Franklin Monroe shuts out Emmanuel Christian in the OHSAA baseball tournament

PITSBURG – Franklin Monroe began the Ohio High School Athletic Association baseball tournament on Wednesday with a 10-0 run-rule victory against Emmanuel Christian.

Franklin Monroe scored three runs in the first inning, one in the second and six in the fourth while holding Emmanuel Christian scoreless in the five-inning game.

Bryce Filbrun was 2-for-2 with a stolen base, a run and two RBIs. Levi Altic was 2-for-3 with a stolen base, two runs and two RBIs. Jeremy Bridenbaugh was 2-for-3 with two runs. Trevor Collins was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, a run and a RBI.

Zach Cable was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and scored two runs. Caden Goins was 1-for-3 with a run and two RBIs. Timothy Lawson was 1-for-3 with a RBI. Larkin Ressler was 1-for-3 with a stolen base and a RBI. Noah Koffer walked twice, stole a base and scored a run.

Filbrun pitched the complete game shutout, allowing seven hits and one walk while striking out six.

Franklin Monroe now advances to play Southeastern at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Duke Park in Troy.
