GREENVILLE – The 33rd annual Greenville Senior High Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held at noon on Dec. 22 at the Greenville Elks Lodge with three former Wave scholar-athletes being honored.
The class of 2018 includes Macie Blinn, Nick Hiller and Abbie Shell.
Blinn, a 2008 graduate, was a three-sport athlete playing volleyball, basketball and softball. She excelled on the basketball court where she holds both the season (450) and career (1,511) records for scoring. Additionally, Macie was a standout player on the Lady Wave 2007 state softball championship team and also was a key member of the volleyball team.
Hiller, a 2001 graduate, was a two-sport athlete for the Wave playing football and as a wrestler. He excelled in both sports and was a sectional, a GMVC champion and placed fifth in the state as a wrestler. He had 40 single season wins and 29 pins with 77 career pins. He was selected as the Darke County Wrestler of the Year and he also was an All-Ohio third team selection in football.
Shell, a 2007 graduate, played softball for the Lady Wave. She was a four-year starter as a pitcher and first basemen. Shell was a three-time All-Ohio selection and a key member of the 2007 state championship team. She had a 26-4 record in the 2007 championship season. She also had more than 60 career wins and 140 career hits.
Later that evening, the inductees will be introduced between the reserve and varsity basketball games when Greenville will host Coldwater. Tickets for both the induction ceremony ad the basketball game may be purchased by contacting the Greenville Senior High School’s athletic office.
The purpose of the Greenville Senior High School Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize and honor those individuals who, by their athletic endeavors, exploits and attainments, commanded respect and admiration for both themselves and Greenville Senior High School; and to express appreciation for the high degree of skills displayed by those individuals.
Nomination forms for individuals to be considered for induction to the Greenville Athletic Hall of Fame may also be picked up at the athletic office.
