PITSBURG – The Franklin Monroe volleyball team overcame a two-game deficit to defeat rival Arcanum on Thursday and secure second place in the Cross County Conference.

Arcanum won the first two sets 25-9 and 25-19 before Franklin Monroe battled back to win the next three 25-19, 25-18, 15-13.

Morgan Booher had 28 kills, nine assists, four blocks and 15 digs for Franklin Monroe. Carrie Baker had 33 assists, three aces and 21 digs. Makenzie Kreitzer had 20 digs and eight kills on the night.

Franklin Monroe improved to 19-3 overall and finished 11-1 in the conference while Arcanum dropped to 16-6 overall and 10-2 in the conference.

Arcanum will play National Trail in Ohio High School Athletic Association tournament action at 5 p.m. Saturday in Brookville. FM will face Twin Valley South in tournament action at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Tipp City.
